The Boys Are Back

"Oscar-Worthy"
-Claudia Puig, USA Today

"A Funny, Touching and Vital Film."
-Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Clive Owen is one of my favorite actors. He really delivers in this heartfelt movie. Joe Warr(Owen), a successful Sportswriter finds himself thrown into single parenthood. He's left to raise his very active 6 year old son, Artie, as well as keep up on his demanding job. Couple that with running a household and romance. Determined to have happiness back in their life again, he creates an entirely different way of parenting. Living in the moment and not worrying about responsibilities in a sense. Then Joe's teenage son from a previous marriage comes for a visit.....

This movie is inspired by a true story, and I couldn't stop watching. This film is sure to touch your heart and make you smile.......and of course....cry!

There are two bonus features on the DVD:

The Boys Are Back: A Photographic Journey — A picture is worth a 1,000 words as
director Scott Hicks takes us on a pictorial tour of the making of the film.
A Father and Two Sons, On Set — Simon Carr, whose memoir inspired the movie, and
his real-life sons visit the set.

It was really great, being as this movie was based on a true story to actually see the real people that inspired it. You get to see Simon Carr, and his real life sons visit the set. The boys interracted with each other so normally. It seemed there wasn't a wall, but yet brotherhood. Like they have all known each other for years. It was a really genuine feature that I enjoyed.

The Boys Are Back is priced at $29.99 on DVD.
I received a copy of The Boys Are Back thanks to Click Communications. I was in no way compensated for my review of this movie. The opinions in the above post are my own.
