1 November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month

My Grandma has diabetes, and has had eye problems along with it. I figured this is a great way to raise awareness about how important it is to get a dilated eye exam annually. With the widget below, you can pledge your commitment to getting an eye exam
and also enter emails to help commit friends and family. You can also read important
facts about eye disease, post the widget and/or support badge onto various social
media sites (i.e. Facebook, Twitter and more), and find the closest Eye M.D.
by zip code.

More than 24 million people in the United States have diabetes and less than
half are not getting a recommended dilated eye exam. People with diabetes are
25 times more likely to become blind than people without diabetes. However, 90
percent of severe vision loss from diabetes can be avoided by visiting your ophthalmologist
annually and by controlling your diabetes.

Thanks to Rocket XL for the widget and information provided here!
